Small Stellated Dodecahedron
A dodecahedron is a polygon with twelve faces.
Each face has five edges in the shape of a pentagon.
Stellation extends each face or edge to form a new shape.
The term Stellation
derives from the latin word for Star
.
Triangular Prism
Triangular prisms are three dimensional shapes. Perpendicular sides with rectangular faces connect two ends of a triangular prism. Each end of a triangular prism is a triangle.
Octagonal Prism
Octagonal prisms are three dimensional shapes. Perpendicular sides with rectangular faces connect two ends of the prism. Each end of an octagonal prism is an octagon.
Cylinder
Cylinders are three dimensional shapes. Perpendicular sides connect two ends of a cylinder. Each end is circular.
Torus
A torus is like a tube which meets at both ends. A torus looks like a donut with circular inner and outer radii.
The diameters of two circles can define a torus.
Define a torus with the diameter of the width of the tube
and outer perimeter of the donut
.
The tube width defines the diameter of the tube, as if that tube were wrapped in a circle and joined at two ends to look like a donut.
The outer perimeter becomes the outer diameter of the torus. In other
words the outer perimeter represents the diameter of the entire donut.
The outer diameter plus tube diameter define the torus' inner diameter.
The inner diameter's the donut hole
